With only two cuts, Touch Up Riddim keeps the focus tight: Mista Vybe’s “Pony Ride” and Terry Seales’ “Back It Up” ride the same 2009 soca groove without any extra filler getting in the way. It’s a lean party piece, built for the kind of Carnival run where the hook and the bassline have to do the heavy lifting, and the arrangement leaves plenty of space for the vocals to punch through. “Pony Ride” has the cheekier title and the more immediate bounce, while “Back It Up” leans harder into the command-and-response energy that makes small soca projects hit so cleanly. By the time Terry Seales closes it out, the riddim has already done its job: quick, direct, and made for the road.
