Togetherness Riddim – Old Capital Productions

Out of the 2012 reggae run, Togetherness Riddim lands with a proper roots-conscious mood from Old Capital Productions, and the title fits the feel of it: earthy, meditative, and carried by voices that stay close to the fire. Kenny Knots opens with Burn Some Fire, Naptali’s Rise Up In The Morning brings a more uplifted tone, and Ras Mcbean’s Jah Bless It And Stretch It keeps the spiritual pressure on. Rebellion The Recaller and Jeru Banto add a sharper militant edge, while Hornsman Coyote’s Dub Horizon pushes the set into instrumental territory. The package runs nine tracks in all, including two version cuts, which gives the riddim a little extra room to breathe.
