In 2012, when Christmas-themed reggae and dancehall cuts were still a reliable part of the season, Warm Jamaican lined up a compact four-track riddim with a clear holiday angle and a few sharp personalities to carry it. The best-known piece here is the title cut, “Warm Jamaican Christmas, ” which pairs Wayne Wonder and Baby Cham on the original Madhouse-era song that helped define the tune’s feel; the version on this set keeps that easy singalong warmth at the center. Spragga Benz turns in the darker “Bad Mind, ” while Lady Saw’s “Get A Straw” and Professor Nuts’ “Of Course” keep the mood playful and rooted in Jamaican patter.
