Mid-2010s soca with a polished, radio-ready feel, The Way Angels Riddim keeps its momentum moving through seven vocals and a neat spread of familiar names, with Alaine’s “Against All Odds, ” Lady Saw’s “Problems, ” and Nyanda’s “Fall In Love” giving the project most of its personality. Raquil Fabrice Hugues keeps the rhythm bright and nimble rather than overly heavy, so the cuts have room to breathe while still carrying enough bounce for carnival season sets, and the lineup of Alaine, Crystal, Kym Hamilton, Lady Saw, Nyanda, Scena, and Tiana gives it a nice mix of voices and accents. It’s a 2015 production with seven tracks in all, and the tracklist closes out with Tiana’s “Nuh Bad Like Me. ”
