Mr G Music usually turns up in the dancehall lane, so The Anniversary Riddim has a brighter soca snap to it, with a busy 13-track lineup that keeps the energy moving instead of settling into one mood. Beenie Man’s “Show Mi Yu Love Me” and Gyptian’s “I Like To Drink” give the set its most recognisable pull, while Vershon, Bugle and RDX help push it along with sharply pitched party talk and carnival-ready momentum. Mr G himself appears twice on the riddim, with “Seh Feh” and “No More Dan Me, ” and the package closes with an instrumental cut, which leaves the production on display at the end. This one came out in 2015 and also folds in Nadine Southerland and Ginga’s “Anniversary, ” plus tracks from Innovata, Jemynie and Slimmatic.
