Daseca’s name is usually tied to cleaner, more polished dancehall runs, but The Beast Riddim comes in hard and stripped back, with the kind of militant energy that suited 2008’s badman season. Aidonia, Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Demarco, Konshens, Bugle, Black Ryno and Elephant Man all circle the same tense pattern, each leaning into threat, defiance or straight-up gun talk. The cut that ties it all together is the instrumental itself: a dark, stuttering drum figure with a punishing low end and just enough empty space for the deejays to cut through.
