By the time Ward 21 kicks off “Weed, ” the THC Riddim has already set its tone: a skanking, ganja-leaning dancehall groove with enough room for General Levy’s “Highest Grade” and General Good’s “Mash Up” to land with extra weight. Can I Bis Records kept the set tight, and the cast has that nice mix of Jamaican names and European oddballs that gives these early-2010s one-riddim projects their own character. Junior Sprea’s “Lerba Della Zia” and Gamba the lenk’s “Ganja Song” push the theme further, while Bonnot closes things out with the THC Riddim Instrumental, letting the pattern breathe on its own.
