By 2007, dancehall was deep in that hard, digital pocket, and the Teflon Riddim fits right into that moment with a lean, aggressive set of cuts from voices that could cut through a busy night. Vybz Kartel’s “When Mi Buss It” is the obvious pull here, all razor-edge attitude and pressure, while Determine’s “Rasta Trod” brings a more rooted snap to the same rhythm. Elsewhere, Mega Banton’s “Come Off A Mi Name” and Dexta Daps’ “Inna U Face” keep the energy pointed and confrontational, with the version letting the riddim’s stripped-down tension sit in plain view. Teflon himself also turns up on “Don’t You, ” which helps give the project a more personal stamp. It’s a compact 11-track dancehall run from that late-2000s era when a sharp riddim and a strong voice could carry the whole thing.
