SWISS PHONE RIDDIM produced by SWISSIVORY PRODUCTIONS 2016
Swiss Phone Overview
The story of the bashment rhythm starts in a studio far from Jamaica. SWISSIVORY PRODUCTIONS, a Swiss-based label known for blending genres, wanted to create something new for dancehall. Behind the mixing board, Swissivory himself shaped every sound, earning his name as the “mixing board king.” With years of experience and collaborations with international artists, Swissivory brought a fresh energy to the project. The beat began with hard-hitting drums and a touch of trap, but the heart of the riddim was pure dancehall. Each artist added their own flavor. Zion King stepped up first with “Nah Leave Di Club,” a song that kept dancers moving all night. Beenie Man, often called the “King of Dancehall” and known for hits like “Who Am I,” delivered “Dutty,” bringing his legendary energy to the track. Blasto’s “Only Me” added a smooth, melodic touch. Bounty Killer, famous for his powerful voice and classics like “Look,” dropped “Like A Phone.” Chilando kept the vibe going with “Game,” showing off his unique style. Other artists like Jami Dread with “Talkative,” Melloquence with “Workout,” Tony D Clutcheye with “Saliva,” and Swissivory himself with “Swiss Phone Riddim” and “Like A Phone (feat. Bounty Killer)” rounded out the collection. When the riddim dropped in 2016, it echoed through clubs across the island and beyond. Selectors loved its energy, and years later, they still draw for these tracks. The bashment rhythm, born from a Swiss studio, became a worldwide dancehall staple.
