Coming out of the 2009 dancehall run, Sweet Ride Riddim feels like a compact, late-2000s selector’s cut: five tracks, no wasted space, and a lineup that pairs Mr Vegas’s sharp “Longtime” with Lukie D’s smoother “Run To Me” and Hawkeye’s more playful “Gimmi My Own. ” B-Rich Records keeps the rhythm taut and riding on a lean, skanking pulse, with enough bass weight to keep it rooted in the dance while leaving room for the vocals to do the heavy lifting. G Monei’s “Mi Mother” adds a more personal angle, and the version track shows the riddim working clean on its own.
