SUPA SWAG RIDDIM produced by UPT-007 RECORDS 2010
Supa Swag Overview
The Supa Swag Riddim brought together some of dancehall’s well-known voices in 2010. Beenie Man, often called the “King of Dancehall,” is famous for hits like “Who Am I (Sim Simma)” and has won a Grammy Award. On this set, he delivers “Yuh Body.” Bescenta, respected for his conscious lyrics, performs “Powers.” The duo of Chi Ching & Harry Toddler team up for “Too Many Men,” while Chozen brings his style to “Acting.” Fambo, known for his energetic stage presence and collaborations such as “Rum & Red Bull” with Beenie Man, offers “Swagg.” The dancehall set was created by UPT-007 RECORDS, a label active in the late 2000s and early 2010s. UPT-007 RECORDS became known for producing dancehall riddims that fit well with the party scene and gained attention in Jamaica and beyond. Their work often featured a mix of established and rising artists, helping new voices get a platform. When the Supa Swag Riddim was released, it quickly became popular in dancehall parties and bashment events in 2010. DJs and fans enjoyed its energetic beats and catchy hooks. The riddim’s singjay style, where artists mix singing and deejaying, made it stand out. Supa Swag Riddim remains a good example of the dancehall sound from that time.
