2014 was a busy year for soca’s Crop Over run, and Sunburn Riddim sits right in that pocket with just enough heat to feel made for fetes rather than the studio. Monstapiece Studios keeps the set lean: Lil Rick’s “U and I” comes in with that bright, bouncing party-energy he’s known for, while Shal Marshall’s “Done De Place” leans harder into the crowd-call momentum and reads like the kind of tune that can flip a dance fast.
