Summa Knock Riddim – Slr Entertainment

SLR Entertainment keeps the Summa Knock Riddim moving at a brisk, no-frills pace, with nine cuts and an instrumental that give the set a proper juggling feel. Alfray’s “Powder Poco, ” Feedo’s “Summa Hot, ” and Jinyus’ “Nuh Obsess” do the heavy lifting, while QQ and Schoolboy bring enough personality to keep the rhythm from settling into one lane too early. The production is leaner than the label’s 2017 I-285 set, but it carries the same dancehall-forward snap, just with a tighter summer-ready pulse and less clutter around the vocalists. The Schoolboy double-up is a nice touch, and WizxMaatik’s instrumental closes the circle cleanly, making this one of the more focused entries in the SLR catalogue.
