Strong Grain Riddim – Weedy G Soundforce

Weedy G Soundforce came through in 2008 with Strong Grain, a dancehall juggling that leans into rough-edged energy rather than slick polish. Capleton’s “Get The Hell Out” and Burro Banton’s “Shalt Out” give the riddim its sharpest pull, while Blakk Ice cuts in from another angle with “Gimme The Mic” and “Stress Poor People, ” keeping the set moving between confrontation and streetwise commentary. There’s a nice bit of variety in the lineup too, with Shane O, Jah Thunder and Alibaba all adding different voices to the same hard-driving frame. It’s the kind of release that feels like it was made for sound system rotation, right down to the extra “Strong Grain” mix tucked at the end.
