Street Soul Riddim – Jugglerz Records

By 2012, reggae and dancehall compilations were leaning hard into clean, digital packaging, and Jugglerz Records caught that moment with Street Soul Riddim, a 12-track set that runs just under an hour and keeps the pacing tight. The riddim sits around an 80 BPM groove, which gives Ce’Cile’s “You And Me, ” Alaine’s “Revolution Song, ” and Christopher Martin’s “Every Single Thought” enough room to breathe without losing forward motion. Jugglerz, the German crew behind the label, were still early in their run here, and this project already shows their taste for casting both Jamaican voices and crossover names in the same frame. The sequencing is deliberate: stronger singjay cuts up front, then a run of lover’s rock and conscious tunes, before closing on the German-language remix, which feels like the producer’s nod to a wider European audience.
