Jstorm Musiq’s 2020 Stormtrap Riddim arrived as his first dancehall project during the lockdown era, a six-song cut with a tight, localised feel and a clear focus on new voices. Devin Di Dakta’s What This Should Be, Fiyaneer’s Mi Want Money, and Jstormm alongside K Banger on What U Know Bout are the headline cuts, while Essae Jv’s Chance and Wassii Dan’s Risky round out the set. Jstorm Musiq, aka Jason Steir, has said this was the project that helped introduce his production work, and that early-2020 push gives the riddim its recognisable stamp: compact, catchy, and built for the street rather than the long form.
