Steel Pipe Riddim – Countryside|Madmen Production

Jungle jumps out first on Steel Pipe Riddim, and “We Come Back Fresh” sets the tone for the whole 2015 Countryside|Madmen Production set with a bright, forward-driving soca pulse that keeps the energy moving without crowding the vocals. Kurt Hernandez’s “4 Ever” and Makesi’s “All I Need” give the riddim its most melodic turns, while Silent Star and Devon’s “My Crew Dem” adds a bit more shout-along muscle in the middle of the sequence. It’s a compact five-track release, all original songs and no filler versions, so it plays more like a tight showcase than a sprawling compilation. Star closes it out with “Pumping, ” and the tracklist runs straight through five cuts on the same riddim.
