Still floating around that bright, breezy 2018 soca pocket, Stationery Riddim from Hunttaflow Production keeps the energy tight with five cuts and a neat, road-ready feel. Shortpree’s “Best Part” and Prince Swade’s “Sparrow” set the tone early, then Alma Boy’s “Ah Next Man” and Lavaman’s “If Jab Was a Yardie (Jamaican)” push the riddim into more playful, cheeky territory, with the whole thing leaning on a quick 3: 18-to-3: 23 song length that keeps it moving. Hunttaflow keeps the arrangements spare enough for each singer’s hook to land, but there’s enough bounce in the percussion to give the project a carnival-season snap.
