Simplicity Riddim – Builo DE Vibes Productions

2018 was a busy year for soca riddims, and Simplicity fit right into that stretch with a lean four-track set from Builo DE Vibes Productions. The title says a lot: this one keeps the arrangement uncluttered and lets the bounce do the talking, with D Hammer’s “Jab Go Give Her” pushing the jab energy up front, Lavaman bringing a more playful edge on “How Cud I Behave, ” and the trio cut “Big People Thing” from Lil Natty, Thunda and DJ Moss adding a proper crew-room feel; Muddy’s “No Drama” closes it out on a lighter, easy-moving note. Lavaman is the name that tends to draw the eye here, but the whole package is really about tight, festival-ready soca with a straight-ahead groove.
