Standing Ovation Riddim – Mixing Finga Muzic

Mixing Finga Muzic’s 2006 Standing Ovation Riddim keeps things on a clean one-drop footing, the kind of roots set that leans more on uplift and message than heavy studio trickery. It’s a short three-song run, but the selection is nicely judged: Anthony Cruz opens with the warm, conscious “Bun The Place, ” Capleton comes in with the title cut and his usual firebrand presence, and Warrior King closes the circle with “Never Let You Down, ” a fit for his hopeful style. The production has that tidy, anthemic feel that lets the voices sit right up front, and the contrast between Cruz’s smoother approach and Capleton’s sharper edge gives the riddim its shape.
