Spenshell opens with a lean five-song juggling, and that tight shape keeps the focus on the songs rather than any excess. Nellz Productions lines up Bapa T, Blacka Pride, Blakout, and Danger P across a reggae set that leans toward conscious footing, with “Na Change, ” “Life Goes On, ” and “Say A Psalms” carrying the clearest message-driven edge. The duplicate “Knock It From Far” cut from Blakout, in edit and raw versions, gives the riddim a little extra bite and lets the track sit at the center of the release. This was issued in 2010, before Ryan “Nellz” Robinson’s name would later surface on a 2011 version of Spenshell in a more dancehall-heavy form, which makes this earlier cut feel like the groundwork. Blakout’s “Knock It From Far” is the one that lingers longest.
