The Snypa Riddim comes in lean and direct, a 2004 Boot Camp Records cut that keeps the focus on hard-edged roots and dancehall voices rather than any big studio gloss. It runs only six tracks, but the spread is sharp: 3d’s “No Delay” and Bescenta’s “The World’s In Trouble” set a wary tone, Hawkeye slides in with the tougher “Gangsta Life, ” and Stacious flips the mood with “Thug Girls. ” Riddim-ID also ties the project to producer Computer Paul, which fits Boot Camp’s early-2000s run of streetwise releases. Still, the one cut that lingers longest is Kiprich and Swade’s “Girls, ” a duet that gives the riddim a bit more lift and personality before the set closes back down into M. B. C. ’s “Make Boys Cry. ”
