    Skylarking Release Details

    1972 roots reggae from the classic Skylarking camp, drawn from Horace Andy’s original piece and carried through a long line of versions and dubs on the same rhythm. The post ties the riddim to a wide spread of producers and labels, including Coxsone Dodd, Bunny Striker Lee, Lee Scratch Perry, King Jammy, Steely and Clevie, Tappa Zukie, Sugar Minott, Junior Reid, and others, which fits the way Skylarking has moved across generations of Jamaican studios and reworks. Barrington Levy’s Skylarking, Big Youth’s The Killer, and the dubs around Murderer and A Better Version are key cuts here, alongside later takes from Anthony B, Beres Hammond, and Anthony Red Rose. It’s a good snapshot of how one enduring foundation stayed in circulation from the early 70s into the dancehall era.
