Sky Fall Riddim – Knatural Entertainment

Sky Fall Riddim has a dark, stripped-back pulse that sits right in that mid-2010s dancehall pocket where the beat leaves plenty of room for the voice. Knatural Entertainment keeps the roster tight: Savage opens things with the lovers angle on “No Other Love, ” Lady Rage brings a more questioning, reflective mood on “Where Do I Go Now, ” and Norris Man gets the strongest spotlight with “Spend More Time, ” which also turns up in an acoustic version that pushes the melody to the front. The instrumental closes the set and shows how lean the arrangement really is, with the kick and bass doing most of the talking. Coming out in 2017, it fits a period when smaller digital riddims were still giving singers and deejays a clean, focused canvas.
