Choices Riddim – Elektracute Music Group

Elektracute Music Group’s Choices Riddim sits right in that late-2017 wave of compact dancehall juggling, eight tracks in just under 24 minutes, and it keeps the focus on sharp, no-frills vocal cuts rather than padding. Konshens’ “Hate Is Real” is the obvious anchor here, especially in both clean and raw versions, while Dejour’s “Tarzan” pushes the same hard-edged energy from a different angle. Black Mattic also gets a strong run with “2lb Sugar” alongside Singer J, and then comes back on “09 Badmind, ” which gives the set a nice little extra sting.
