SATISFACTION RIDDIM (ZION RIDDIM) – LION PAW PRODUCTION 2001
Satisfaction Overview
The Satisfaction Riddim is a reggae project that was created in the studio with a focus on classic roots sounds. The riddim was built with a strong, steady rhythm and live instruments, giving it a rich, soulful feel. The creative direction was led by a roots selector who wanted to blend vintage reggae energy with modern production. This helped the compilation fit well with the roots reggae revival seen in 2021. The lineup features some of reggae’s most respected voices. George Nooks brings his smooth style to “Zion Gate.” Nooks is known for his ability to cross between gospel and reggae, and his 2001 album “Standing by the Gate” was well received in Jamaica and abroad. Glenn Washington delivers “Wanna Take You Home,” showing his trademark soulful singing. Washington is famous for hits like “Kindness for Weakness,” and he has been a steady presence in reggae since the late 1990s. Half Pint’s “Suzie” adds a touch of classic dancehall. Half Pint is best known for his hit “Greetings,” which has been sampled by many artists worldwide. Junior Kelly’s “You Can Make It” stands out with positive lyrics and his unique vocal tone. Kelly became internationally known with the song “Love So Nice” in 2001. L.u.s.t. performs “Run Free,” bringing strong harmonies from this vocal group. Luciano’s “Come Away” adds a spiritual message, fitting his reputation as “The Messenger” in reggae music.
