Kushmatic Sound keeps the Ruff World Riddim tight and grimy, with a hard-edged dancehall pulse that feels built for late-night sound system play rather than glossy crossover polish. The four-track set pairs Bammaz’s blunt “Protection” and Isure’s “Trouble” with Slim Knight’s “The New Normal” and Viera Tek’s “Fren Killa, ” and that lineup gives the riddim a nice push-pull between warning-shot lyrics and rougher street commentary. Released in April 2021 as a short EP, it lands in the wave of compact, producer-led dancehall drops that were flooding the scene at the time, where a handful of voices can sketch out an entire mood in just a few cuts.
