Rub A Dub Overview
VP Records, one of reggae music’s most respected labels, released the Rub A Dub Riddim project in 2016. Known for promoting both established and rising talent, VP Records used this release to shine a light on reggae’s roots while providing a platform for young and conscious voices. The Rub A Dub Riddim brought together a strong lineup of artists. Anthony B delivered a powerful message with “Striving,” a song about perseverance and hope. Eloquent contributed “Take It With A Smile,” encouraging positivity even in tough times. Etana’s “I Am Not Afraid” stood out as an anthem of courage and self-belief, while Fantan Mojah’s “Most High” offered spiritual upliftment. Ginjah’s “Never Lost My Way” reflected on staying true to one’s path, adding depth to the compilation. Other artists also made a mark. I Octane’s “No Frighten We” brought energy and resilience. Lymie Murray shared “No Reason To Change,” and Morgan Heritage contributed “Nothing To Smile About,” both adding to the project’s thoughtful themes. Natural Black’s “Love You” and Nesbeth’s “Gunz Out” rounded out the collection, each song carrying its own message and style.
