Totally Dubwise had already made the Riddim Up name feel like a family business by 2016, and this one leans hard into the label’s dubwise side without losing dancehall pressure. The cut runs on a dark, skanking pulse that leaves space for voices like Gappy Ranks on “Boom Draw, ” Da Fuchaman on “Henging Tree, ” and Dark Angel across three tracks, each of them riding the rhythm with a different angle. Subtifuge also shows up in a bigger way here, which fits the label’s habit of treating producer, selector, and vocalist as part of the same circle rather than separate lanes. Compared with the later Rewind and Come Again set, Totally Dubwise sounds tighter and more rooted in raw dancehall-dub energy, with enough chant-style hooks and sound-system grit to sit neatly alongside the rest of the Riddim Up catalogue.
