Reflection Riddim (2017) – Uim Records

UIM Records’ Reflection Riddim turns up as a compact 2017 dancehall set, the kind of juggling that keeps its focus tight and its energy pointed. Bugle’s “Street Smart” feels like the anchor here, with that sharp, cautionary edge he does so well, while Blak Diamon’s “Come Fi Mi” and T. O. K. ’s “She Say” give the riddim a more playful, forward-moving swing around the same rhythm bed. Wayne Lexx’s name sits behind the project, and the release lands as a nine-track package running just over half an hour, with no wasted space and a nice balance between names you know and voices that keep the tune moving. A neat little August 2017 drop, really.
