Right out of the 2010 dancehall lane, Rail Up Riddim pulls together a sharp mix of gun talk, street swagger, and dance-floor pressure from Sankofa Production, with a tracklist that leans heavy on the hard-edged side but still leaves room for a couple of cheekier turns. Beenie Man and Lisa Hyper set the tone on “Nuh Stress Mi Out, ” while Bounty Killer turns up twice, first alongside Doolas on “Not Scared Enough” and then solo on “Sieze Fire, ” keeping the energy fierce and unapologetic. There’s also a nice contrast in Ce’Cile’s “Mi Tek Yuh Man” and Mavado with Flexx on “Wine Up Yuh Body, ” which nudges the riddim toward the party without softening it. Sizzla’s “Cash Flow” sits near the end like a late push of momentum, but the one that really leaves a mark is Beenie Man’s cut, which gives the riddim its hookiest opening shot.
