Raggy Road Overview

Back in 1997, the Raggy Road Riddim brought a new energy to reggae and dancehall. The beat was made by the talented production team at Digital B, with Bobby Digital at the controls. Bobby Digital was already known for his sharp ear and clean sound, and this riddim was no different. He recorded the tracks at Digital B Studio in Kingston, using tight drum patterns and smooth basslines that made the speakers shake at every dance. The Raggy Road Riddim’s base became a street anthem. It was heavy and catchy, perfect for sound clashes and big dances. Artists like Capleton, Cocoa Tea, Tony Rebel, Admiral Tibett, and Shabba Ranks each brought their own style to the riddim. Capleton’s “Raggy Road” was full of fire and energy, setting the tone for the whole release. Cocoa Tea’s “Wicked Man” added a smooth, conscious vibe, while Tony Rebel’s “Bruck It Down” kept the groove lively and uplifting.
