Pree Dem Riddim (2011) – Push A Yute Productions

Pree Dem Riddim sits right in that lean, hard-edged 2011 dancehall pocket, with Push A Yute Productions keeping the arrangement tight and no-frills. Esco Da Shocker’s “Go Harder” carries a nice upward push in the delivery, while Quain’s “I Wish” has that more reflective, complaining-about-the-system tone that gives the rhythm some contrast. The cut that feels most memorable is “Fresh and Clean Everyday” from Redeema and Future Fambo, because the pair ride the riddim with enough swagger to make the hook stick. This one only runs three tracks, so it plays more like a sharp juggling than a sprawling project, which is probably why it still feels so direct more than a decade later.
