General Shizzle’s “Cho” feels like the sharpest entry point into Class Mada Riddim, a lean 2011 dancehall set with just three cuts and no wasted motion. Rocki’s “Big Up” sits right alongside it, riding the same sturdy pressure from the version while giving the riddim a more chant-along, street-corner feel, and Ta? J’s “Nuh Cake Soap” pushes the whole thing into that early-2010s dancehall space where rude-boy phrasing and playful one-liners did plenty of heavy lifting. The production is credited only to Various Artists, which gives the release a rough, almost anonymous charm, as if it was made to move quickly and leave the song to do the talking. Small set, fast hit, and that’s probably the point.
Class Mada Riddim Tracklist:
