Praise Riddim from Kimichi Records sits in that straight-up roots-reggae pocket where the chant of the title makes sense before you even hear the first drop, and the 2014 set keeps its focus tight with just four voices riding the same backing: Derick Parker on “Mr Big Man, ” Junior Culture on “Pretty Dunce, ” Norris Man with the reflective “Longing For That Day, ” and Singing Sweet closing the circle on “Praise. ” Norris Man’s cut feels like the emotional anchor, while Singing Sweet brings the most obvious call-and-response lift, and the production leans into a clean, devotional pulse rather than anything flashy.
