Power House Presents: Various Artists is a new reggae riddim that comes from Jamaica’s strong music tradition. The riddim is now playing in sound system dances and reggae events, bringing classic and modern vibes together. Big Youth, a legend in reggae, brings his unique style to “Things Friend.” Big Youth is known for his hit song “S-90 Skank” and for being one of the first DJs to use his voice as an instrument in reggae. Conroy Smith adds energy with “Original.” Smith is famous for his 1980s hit “Dangerous” and is respected for his powerful singing voice. Cutty Ranks, another well-known artist, performs “Come We Love Up.” Cutty Ranks is known for his deep voice and dancehall hits like “The Stopper.” Half Pint brings a roots feeling with “A Long Road To Travel.” Half Pint’s song “Greetings” is a true reggae classic and helped him gain international fame. Noel Ellis, son of the famous Alton Ellis, sings “Hello Massive.” Noel Ellis is known for his self-titled 1983 album, a favorite in reggae circles. The riddim is produced by Power House, a label started by producer George Phang. Phang is known for his work in the 1980s, creating many classic reggae rhythms. This new riddim keeps the feeling of vinyl warmth and roots reggae alive, making it a favorite in today’s reggae sets.
