Paradise Riddim (2012) – Precision

Machel Montano’s “Drinkin’ Rum” is the obvious anchor on Paradise Riddim, but Precision keeps the whole 2012 set moving with seven short, tightly cut soca cuts that sit right around the three-and-a-half-minute mark. The lineup runs from Alternative Quartet’s “I Am Paradise” and Beverley S’s “You’re Not Alone” through Farmer Nappy, Kerwin Du Bois, Nadia Batson and Teddyson John, so it lands like a proper pre-Carnival package rather than a loose one-off. The track order feels paced for a party mix, with Montano’s rum anthem dropping late in the sequence and Teddyson John closing on “Push Back. ” Paradise Riddim was issued as a seven-track Precision Productions release in October 2012.
