Outta Jamaica Riddim – Tasjay Productions

Tasjay Productions released Outta Jamaica Riddim in 2020, a 16-song reggae compilation that leans into a groovy rub-a-dub feel while drawing on a classic Dennis Brown-era foundation. The set brings together Anthony B on Rock Steady, Luciano on New Sheriff, Little Hero on Legends, and strong contributions from Rad Dixon, Horace Martin, and Patcha Blacks, with the instrumental closing the project. Tasjay James Smith put the rhythm together through his Toronto-based label, and the project was shaped with help from Sly and Robbie alongside Firehouse Crew’s Paul Crossdale and engineer Delroy Pottinger. It has a roots-to-conscious balance, moving between uplift, culture songs, and a few more direct streetwise cuts, which gives the compilation a varied but coherent feel.
