Produced by Anotha One Productions, Happy Child Riddim arrived in 2020 as a 10-track reggae set with a clear family-and-roots theme running through it. The lineup brings together Anthony John, Bionic Clarke, Naptali, Hyh Volume, I Anbassa, King Hopeton, Leah Rosier, Lee Scratch Perry, and Sabolious, with Lee Scratch Perry’s Happy Birthday and King Hopeton’s Children Of The Ghetto among the more memorable cuts. The project was released on December 25, 2020, and the instrumental closes out the set, giving the riddim a clean showcase after the vocal versions. Anotha One Productions, led by Milan Ivkovic, had been shaping this rhythm for years before finally issuing it, which gives the release a patient, worked-on feel rather than a rushed compilation.
