OUTERNATIONAL RIDDIM produced by ONENESS RECORDS 2019
Outernational Overview
In 2019, the Outernational Riddim showed reggae’s depth in a fresh way. Produced by ONENESS RECORDS, this project brought together artists from different backgrounds, each adding their own energy to the riddim. The label, founded in Germany, is known for high-quality reggae productions and has supported many international reggae acts over the years. The Outernational Riddim stands out because of its rocksteady flow. This style, with its smooth rhythm and deep bass, connects the songs and gives the whole album a classic reggae feeling. Compared to other recordings from the same era, which often used faster dancehall beats or digital sounds, this riddim keeps things steady and soulful. It reminds listeners of reggae’s roots, while still sounding modern. Stonebwoy’s “Black People” uses the riddim’s groove to deliver a strong message. Chuck Fenda’s “Smiling” is uplifting, with his vocals fitting perfectly over the steady beat. Marla Brown & Cidade Verde Sounds bring a softer touch with “Hearts Desire,” showing the riddim’s flexibility. Fyahbwoy’s “Miseducation” and Naptali’s “Must Be Told” both add thoughtful lyrics and smooth flows. Other notable tracks include Simple Rattigan’s “Gun Ting,” YT’s “Trod On,” Solaion’s “Esmeralda,” and Ras Muhamad & Kabaka Pyramid’s “Re-Education.” The Oneness Band’s “Outernational Riddim Instrumental” lets the music shine on its own. The foundation builder’s role is clear here: ONENESS RECORDS keeps the sound unified and the quality high. This rocksteady flow remains an important part of reggae history, showing how classic styles can inspire new generations.
