Shortpree leads the Oil World Riddim with “Bossy Jab, ” the sharpest cut on Hypelyne Production’s 2019 soca set, and the rest of the four-track package keeps the jab-jab energy rolling through Candle’s “Ah Love It, ” Muddy’s “Jab Lane, ” and Alma Boy’s “Love D Jab” with Ophilia Decaille. It’s a compact release, just four songs and about 11 minutes long, so there’s no padding here—each vocalist gets a quick run over the same driving rhythm. Muddy’s “Jab Lane” and Shortpree’s opener do most of the heavy lifting, while the feature from Ophilia Decaille gives Alma Boy’s tune a little extra lift. Hype Lyne Productions issued the riddim on June 21, 2019.
