Oil Stain Overview
If you are a reggae fan curious about soca, the Oil Stain Riddim compilation is a great place to start. This 2013 release brought the joy and energy of Carnival straight to the DJ booth, giving selectors an anthem-packed riddim to spin at parties and parades. The journey of Oil Stain Riddim began in the creative studios of STADIC STUDIO and WETTY BEATZ PRODUCTIONS. Both producers are known for shaping the modern sound of Caribbean music. STADIC STUDIO, led by Kevin “Stadic” Charles, has worked with top soca and dancehall stars, earning millions of streams. WETTY BEATZ PRODUCTIONS, from Trinidad and Tobago, is celebrated for its infectious hooks and has produced several Carnival favorites over the years. Band leader Kevin “Stadic” Charles brought together a powerhouse lineup for this project. Skinny Fabulous, the soca star from St. Vincent, delivered “The General.” Skinny Fabulous is known for his energetic performances and for winning the St. Vincent Soca Monarch title multiple times. Problem Child, also from St. Vincent, brought the heat with “Riot.” He is recognized for his songwriting skills and has penned hits for other major soca artists. Pumpa, the energetic performer from the US Virgin Islands, added his own flavor with “Kong Fu.” Each track on Oil Stain Riddim captured the true spirit of Carnival 2013—sunshine, dancing, and togetherness.
