Low-key heartbreak. Deja Vu Records lines up nine cuts on the Obsessive Happiness Riddim, and the whole thing leans into a smooth, contemporary reggae pulse rather than anything too heavy or militant. Lutan Fyah’s “Jah Love Is” gives the set its spiritual anchor, while Ginjah’s “Gone Too Soon” and Sophia Brown’s “Love Is Blind” sit closer to the emotional core, where the vocalists ride the same tender groove from different angles. There’s a nice contrast too: Chuck Fenda brings some grit on “Tribulation Life Brings, ” then Macka Diamond flips the mood with the cheeky “Million Fi The Year. ” That mix of conscience tunes, love songs, and one bright swagger cut gives the riddim a quiet, slightly bruised feel, and the Da’Ville closer ties it off neatly.
