“Muddy Road Riddim” moves at a laid-back, old-school reggae pace, with Natural High Music pairing sharp piano chords, a horn line, and a muted guitar figure that keeps the rhythm nice and grounded. Jesse Royal’s title cut, Lutan Fyah’s “Taking Me For Granted, ” and Mikey General’s “Suffa” are the tracks that jump out first, while Kelissa and Freedem add a brighter, more conscious edge to the lineup. The project runs as a seven-track various-artists set, and the sequencing keeps the versions in a tight, steady flow rather than stretching the idea out. Natural High Music produced the riddim in 2014, with seven different artists on the tracklist.
