Blackchild Riddim keeps it compact with nine cuts and a little extra room for the instrumental, and that tight lineup gives the whole thing a community feel rather than a star-heavy showcase. Avalanche I’s “Whispers” and Jah Mercy’s “Start From Scratch” set the tone nicely, with one leaning reflective and the other pushing that pull-yourself-up energy, while Tony Mad’s “What About Tomorrow” lands like the sharpest question in the set.
