MOJITO RIDDIM produced by MR ROOTS 2012
Mojito Overview
In 2012, island fans found a new festival favorite with the release of Mojito Riddim. The journey began in the studio, where producer MR ROOTS brought his signature touch to the project. Known for his work with the label Fox Fuse, MR ROOTS had already made a name in the soca and Caribbean music scene. His focus on melody and rhythm helped shape the riddim into something both fresh and true to the festival spirit. The Mojito Riddim became a platform for singers and bands to shine. Luni Spark And Electrify delivered “Inna Mi Glass,” a track that quickly became a party anthem. The duo, famous for winning the Grenada Soca Monarch title multiple times, brought their winning energy to the mix. Muddy’s “Whole Day” added a catchy, laid-back vibe, perfect for long gatherings and street parades. Nekoyan’s “Miss The Plane” stood out with its playful storytelling, while Sheldon Douglas brought his seasoned voice to “Ah Feel To.” Douglas is well known in the soca world, especially for his classic “Feeling It” and his many years of performing at major festivals. Terror Kid added “Stressfree,” a song that encouraged listeners to let go of worries and enjoy the moment. Brother B’s “Drinkin Time” rounded out the collection, keeping the mood light and festive. Together, these artists and songs made Mojito Riddim a festival collection to remember. For many, 2012’s festival season is forever tied to these grooves and the joyful energy they brought.
