By the time Nap Musiq got to Mission Of Love in 2015, the imprint was already leaning into a cleaner, message-first kind of reggae, and this set keeps that focus tight. The riddim has a smooth, mid-tempo pulse with enough warmth in the bass and guitar to leave room for the singers, so the songs don’t have to fight the arrangement. Da’Ville turns up twice, and both Afterall and How Long sit nicely in that reflective pocket, while Norris Man’s Bitter Soul and Turbulence’s Oh Jah bring a more roots-steady weight to the project. Elliven, who self-produced the release on his Nap Musiq imprint, framed it as a love-centered compilation, and you can hear that intention in the way the voices are handled. It closes with the bare Mission Of Love riddim instrumental, which leaves the groove hanging in the air after Tasha T’s Musical Mission.
