Mighty Roots Riddim – Ambassador Musik

Mighty Roots Riddim finds Ambassador Musik working in the classic roots tradition, with a digital-era polish that still leaves space for the bass to do the talking. The EP landed on April 20, 2018, and it was cut as a proper juggling set, with five vocal tracks and a version on the close. Ambassador Musik’s collaboration with George “Fully” Fullwood gives the project its spine, and that pedigree matters: this is a roots exercise shaped by someone tied to some of the music’s deepest bassline history.

The lineup is strong and well chosen. Perfect Giddimani opens with “Hail Fari, ” bringing his sharp, chanting delivery and militant consciousness to the top of the set. Lutan Fyah follows with “Stick to Culture, ” a natural fit for his steady, reasoned style and long run as one of reggae’s most reliable voices for roots and Rastafari themes. Chezidek’s “All I Got” and Teacha Dee’s “Ego” each sit comfortably inside the same frame, but they approach it differently: Chezidek’s high, reflective tone gives the riddim lift, while Teacha Dee cuts in with a more direct, grounded edge. Winstrong closes the vocal sequence with “Sinsimillia, ” leaning into the herb-conscious side of the culture.

The riddim itself is warm, driving, and unhurried, built on a heavy low end and a steady skank that keeps the movement rooted rather than rushed. It feels made for sound system play: enough space for the vocals to breathe, but enough pressure underneath to hold a juggling tight. The version at the end seals it as a DJ-friendly set and gives the whole release a proper roots showcase feel.
