Mercy Riddim produced by King Dubbist Records 2010
Mercy Overview
In 2010, a special roots reggae instrumental began its journey under the careful guidance of culture arranger Jah Rueben Mystic. The riddim took shape in the studio, built on live percussion and warm, steady bass. Jah Rueben Mystic worked closely with the musicians, making sure every element stayed true to the classic roots sound. King Dubbist Records, a UK-based label known for supporting roots and dub artists, took on the project. The label had already gained respect in the reggae community, with a history of releasing authentic and powerful reggae music. Their focus on roots culture made them the perfect home for this release. The riddim soon became a platform for powerful voices. Brother Culture, a veteran MC with a long career and known for his track "Secret Delivery," brought deep energy and lyrical skill. Jah Rueben Mystic himself stepped forward with "Take A Look," sharing messages of awareness and upliftment. Ras Zacharri, recognized for his collaborations with Luciano and his single "Herbs Man," added his track "Jah Rule," giving the riddim a spiritual edge. Roommate, a producer and artist respected in the dub scene, contributed "Mercy Dub," a spacious version that let the riddim breathe. Together, these tracks made the recording a cultural gem in 2010, keeping the roots reggae spirit alive and strong.
