Back in 2013, when dancehall was still leaning hard on bare-knuckle clash energy, Adigun Production’s Magnum Riddim came through with eight cuts and no wasted space. Deva Bratt opens the set like a man sharpening his pen on “Lyrical Architect, ” while Major’s “Want War” and Dainjamental’s “Buss My Gun” keep the temperature up with straight gun-talk attitude. Teflon’s “Please Her” shifts the mood a bit, giving the riddim a more sly, road-ready edge without losing its rough bounce. The instrumental version at the end leaves the pattern exposed, all nagging bass and clipped drum pressure, and that’s really the point here: a lean 2013 dancehall package that plays like a quick burst of sound system business.
